3 parts bread to 1 part cornbread 15 c cubed bread 4 c cornbread crumbs 2 large chopped onions, browned in butter celery scant tsp sage 2 tsp salt pepper Chopped giblets and broth Use broth from giblets to moisten bread and some water. Finish with about 1 qt milk.
6 red cobs (washed) Boil 1 hour in 3 qts water- strain Add 3 lbs brown sugar and water enough to make 3 qts. Boil until thick enough to suit or the consistency of maple syrup. Be sure to select cobs free from mold. Light colored cobs will make lighter syrup, also better tasting.
