Apple Rolls

2 C. flour
2 t. sugar
4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. cream of tarter
1/2 C. shortening
2/3 C. milk
4 C. sliced apples

1 C. sugar
1 C. water


Combine first 5 ingredients. Mix in shortening then milk. Turn out on floured surface, knead 8-10 times. Roll out dough into rectangular shape 1/4 inch thick. Place apples on dough. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll up like jelly roll. Cut into 1 1/2 inch slices. Place in 13 x 9 pan that has water and sugar boiled together on bottom. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Serve warm.
