Biscuit Supreme

2 c. flour
2 t. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk
1/2 t. salt
4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. cream of tartar

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and stir until dough follows for around bowl. Roll 1/2? thick. cut with biscuit cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. bake at 450 for 10 – 12 minutes. Makes 16 biscuits
