Buster Bar Dessert

1 small pkg. Oreo cookies, crushed
1/2 c. melted butter
1 (12 oz.) cool whip, thawed
chopped salted peanuts
Caramel or butterscotch syrup topping
1/2 gallon softened vanilla ice cream

Combine crushed Oreos with butter. Press 1/2 of Oreos into 9 x 13 cake pan. Spread cool whip over oreos, sprinkle with peanuts and top with caramel or butterscotch topping. Put in freezer until firm. Then spread softened ice cream over first part. Top with remaining cookies and peanuts, freeze. Let thaw slightly before serving
