Fudge Filled Bars

2 C. quick oats
1 C. packed brown sugar
1 C. butter
1 can condensed milk
2 T. shortening
1 1/2 C. flour
3/4 t. salt
1 C. pecans
1 C. chocolate chips
1 C. M&M’s


Combine oats, flour, brown sugar and salt. Add butter and mix until crumbly. Set aside 1 1/2 C. for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into greased 13 x 9 pan. In saucepan, combine milk, chocolate chips and shortening. Cook and stir over low heat until chips are melted. Spread over crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Top with M&M’s. Bake at 350 for 20 – 25 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Yields: 2 1/2 dz
