¾ c. milk
½ c. quick-cooking oatmeal
½ c. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shredded cheese (Cheddar or similar)
or cheese powder to taste
1 lb. ground beef
2/3 c. ketchup
½ c. brown sugar
1 ½ tsp. prepared mustard
In a medium bowl, beat the egg and milk;
add oats, onion, salt and cheese. Add beef
and mix well. Grease a 13 x 9 pan.
Shape meat mixture into 8 loaves; place into pan.
Glaze: Combine ketchup, brown sugar and
mustard; spoon over loaves. Bake
uncovered at 350 for 30 to 45 minutes, or
until meat is no longer pink. Yield: 8 servings.
