Mystery Pudding

1 1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 (17 oz) can fruit cocktail, undrained
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 t. soda
1/4 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts

Combine flour, sugar, soda and salt in mixing bowl. In separate bowl, combine beaten egg, fruit cocktail and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and mix to dampen. Pour into greased 8 x 8 cake pan. Mix together brown sugar and nuts; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Top with whip cream before serving
