Pecan Caramel Bars

2/3 C. margarine
1 C. brown sugar
1 1/2 C. flour
1/2 t. vanilla
1/4 t. salt
1/4 C. water
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 C. sugar
28 Kraft caramels
1/4 C. margarine
1 C. chopped nuts

Cream margarine and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour; mix well. Press into 9 x 13 cake pan. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Melt caramels with margarine and water in pan on low heat; stirring occasionally until smooth. Combine eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt. Gradually add caramel sauce; mix well. Stir in nuts and pour over crust.. Continue baking 15 minutes. Cool and then cut into bars
