Scalloped Potatoes

8 qt. potatoes, cooked, peeled and shredded
5 t. salt
black pepper
garlic powder
1 lb. cheese, sliced
3 cans mushroom soup
1 onion, chopped fine
1/2 c. margarine
1 – 2 qt. milk

Layer potatoes in large roaster pan, sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion. Add cheese, mushroom soup and 1 1/2 qt. milk. Bake at 350, stirring twice and adding additional milk as needed.
