2 c. sifted flour
4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. cream of tartar
2 T. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
Sift flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and cream of tartar into bowl. Add shortening, blend until consistency of cornmeal. Pour milk into mixture slowly, add egg and stir to stiff dough.
Bake on cookie sheet 10 – 15 minutes at 450.
